Approach

Valentina takes a warm, practical and collaborative approach to therapy. She aims to create a space where clients feel comfortable being themselves, while also feeling supported to explore what is going on for them and work towards meaningful change. Valentina commonly draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), adapting these approaches to suit each client rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. She values helping clients develop a better understanding of themselves while building practical skills they can take into their everyday lives.

Background

Valentina’s experience has included working across private practice, school and community settings with clients along the lifespan. Valentina genuinely enjoys getting to know the people she works with and what makes them who they are.

Outside of psychology, Valentina is someone who loves to stay busy and curious. She enjoys travelling, discovering new places to eat, listening to music, Latin dancing, staying active and spending time outdoors. She also loves a series, board game night and spending time with her mini groddle.

Valentina values having a life outside of work and the balance that comes from making time for the people, interests and experiences that are important to her. She brings this same perspective to her work, recognising that wellbeing is about more than just managing difficulties, it is also about building a life that feels enjoyable, meaningful and genuinely your own.
