We conduct a range of psychological tests to meet our clients’ needs.
These include:
Positive Psychology offers assessments, tests and reports to support you in your work and personal life.
Most assessments need to be delivered in person. However, certain tests – such as ADHD and ASD – can be administered online or over the phone.
Regardless of the delivery method, the assessment process usually follows these five steps:
Our assessments team will ask you a range of questions to ensure we undertake the right assessment for you (or your loved one).
We’ll also ask you to complete any relevant intake, referral and consent forms at this time. From there, we’ll outline the next steps for your test.
You’ll attend an intake session with the psychologist, so they can gather the relevant information to tailor your assessment.
The psychologist will liaise with our assessment team to complete your quote, which we will then share with you. Once you are comfortable with everything, you’ll then accept the quote and book your session.
Now, you will complete the assessment with the relevant psychologist or team.
The psychologist may also consult with other people – such as family members, carers, educators and relevant health professionals. This enables us to gather a holistic view, improving our diagnostic process and your treatment plan.
After we complete your psychological report, the practitioners involved will conduct a feedback session. We will walk you through the assessment findings and present recommendations with a variety of healthcare specialists.
The duration of any psychological assessment varies based on the test’s complexity – and the individual. We will advise you on the assessment length at the ‘processing of assessment quote’ stage detailed above.
The entirety of the assessment process, from the quote to the report and feedback session, takes approximately two months.
Assessment costs vary due to factors like the test’s complexity, number of practitioners involved, and your individual needs.
Psychological assessments are paid privately. Please contact your private health insurance provider directly to find out if you’re covered – and if so, by how much.
Current Medicare rules do not allow you to claim for psychological assessments.
Every practitioner in our assessments team has a bachelor’s degree in psychology – and often a masters or a doctorate degree.
They are required to complete ongoing professional development in the psychological assessment and diagnosis of various psychological disorders. And have regular peer supervision from senior psychologists who are experts in assessments.
